Who We Are:
Ed and Ash are a husband and wife team who together own and run AE Letterpress and Design Studio, a public-access letterpress and printmaking studio located at Traders of the Lost Arts a design studio in the Santa Cruz Mountains in the historic town of Boulder Creek, Ca.
With a rich passion in Graphic Design and History they have combined their love for printmaking and restoration and built a strong foundation over the past years hosting classes, personal projects, and commercial work. Together they manage studio hours, offer letterpress and printmaking workshops, and tackle the commercial work as AE Letterpress.
In addition to running AE Letterpress, Ashley and Ed both currently have day jobs. Ed works full-time for the Santa Cruz Hospice, and Ashley is a full-time visual designer for clients across the Bay Area.
The studio is available for printing rentals Thursday through Saturday at $20 per hour. Please see our hours and location on our workshops page.
Shop tours are available as well as private group workshops.

About the Press:
The 1906 C&P 8 X 12 was purchased from a turnkey letterpress shop in Santa Cruz, CA and was successfully moved to our new studio at 17th Ave Studios January 2014. This will become our work horse for all our larger run jobs.
Our Golding Pearl no 11, Built in 1902. We found the press in Richmond, CA in a garage and it was in a pretty rough state. It wasn’t being used and a restoration was needed… parts have been hard to find but we consider it a responsibility to put her back together again. It now runs smoothly and now resides at 17th Ave Studios.
Our smallest addition is a german made 3" x 4" tabletop platen press by B. Grauel & Co. Found this guy at a local swap meet and very excited to add it to the collection.
And last but not least we have just acquired an Ettan etching press which will allow us to work with larger format prints.
