Lily Arnold Printing on the Etching Press

Lily Arnold Printing on the Etching Press

In order to book time in the studio you must first complete a private workshop and demonstrate that you are fully proficient with the process and safety standards.

How do I reserve time to use the presses?

After you feel comfortable with the presses in our studio you can book some time on the studio Letterpress for $20/hr (plus supplies). You would have access to both the C&P, Paper Cutter, Etching Press, and the Golding Pearl. You can purchase ink and paper from our stock list. Payments are accepted with cash or check after your printing session.

What will I need to bring to the studio?

Please bring your designed photopolymer plate, specialty inks (rubber based inks only please), wear closed toed shoes and hair tie, Apron, your paper you would like
to print on, and any snacks/drinks.

We can provide ink and some paper is available for purchase but is limited.
Please check the stock list below.

Where can I get photopolymer plates made?

There are many providers of plates in the bay area ... I would recommend Logos Graphics in SF.
They also make metal backed plates in addition to the polymer. Make sure to order deep relief (KF152)
for the older Golding Pearl press.

Where can I get paper cut?

We can provide paper cutting or if you would like to have it out sourced check out Central Ave Paper or MPress in Santa Cruz, CA
